Q-How long have you played hockey?
A-13 years
Q-What’s your favorite part about hockey?
A-The sense of family and as I get older I appreciate all of the amazing people it has brought into my life.
Q-What’s your biggest accomplishment in hockey?
A-Being a junior and senior captain, and being able to leave an impact on the new hockey program.
Q-Where do you draw your inspiration to play?
A-I draw my inspiration to play from my younger sister Alyssa who keeps me motivated, and makes me want to be a good role model for when she leads the team one day.
Q-Do you have any specific routine/ritual before playing or before practice?
A-Before games I make sure I have a fresh tape job, and lay with my feet in the air because in my head it makes me faster. (It’s definitely a mind thing)
Q-Pregame meal?
A-My pregame meal is usually just a diet coke and maybe a snicker in between periods.
Q-Future outlook for hockey?
A-Unfortunately I am not looking to further my play into college, but as for my senior year my goal is to make it to state.
Q-Any advice?
A-Don’t let people ruin the love you have for a sport, and remember to have fun; sports were never meant to be draining.
Senior Mason Mrachek
Q-How long have you played hockey?
A-I have been playing hockey since I was 2 years old.
Q-What’s your favorite part about hockey?
A-My favorite part about hockey is game day and spending time with the guys.
Q-What’s your biggest accomplishment in hockey?
A-My biggest accomplishments in hockey is the relationships I have built and scoring my first varsity goal against Dickinson my sophomore year.
Q-Do you play any other sports?
A-I play golf for St. Mary’s.
Q-Where do you draw your inspiration to play?
A-I draw my inspiration to play from my dad. He played when he was young, and he passed it down to me.
Q-Do you have any specific routine/ritual before playing or before practice?
A-I like to get to the rink early before games. I tape my stick right away. I like to watch the jv game and warm up with the team. Then I put my gear on, and I’m ready to go.
Q-Pregame meal?
A-The ideal pregame meal is spaghetti and meatballs.
Q-Future outlook for hockey?
A-I don’t have any plans to play hockey after high school, but that could change depending on how the season goes.
Q-Any advice?
A-Enjoy your time playing high school sports before it goes by super fast.
