Captain. Senior Gunner Swanson was voted unanimously as a team captain this year for the basketball team. Swanson exemplified leadership qualities as a senior this year, and his peers respected him for that. “Gunner is always one of the most outspoke in group chats and after practice conversations,” BHS Head Basketball Coach Jordan Wilhelm said. “He wants to put in the extra time and was always a leader by example. Towards the end of his senior year he ended up coming out of his comfort zone and led by communication as well.”

Farewell, Gunner.

6-Peat. The Bismarck Blizzard captured their sixth consecutive state championship in February. Despite her knee injury, senior Noelle Martin was still a big part of the team during their title run. “Noelle is a great teammate and a great person,” Bismarck Blizzard Head Coach Tim Meyer said. “I don’t know anyone who doesn’t get along with Noelle. She has a lot of leadership qualities that her teammates look up to.”
