Confidence drives senior wrestler Braeden Halverson. He has high expectations for his own performance and his team’s ability to win the state championship.
“My team will excel at winning,” Halverson said.
Halverson leads his team by example. He believes that his outward performance will be the primary driver of his team’s success.
“I lead my team as a good example,” Halverson said.
To perform well, Haleverson relies on his tough mentality.
“If you don’t hate losing, then quit.”
Since being put in wrestling at a young age, Halverson has dedicated a large portion of his time to wrestling, as it’s become one of his top priorities. Some of his accomplishments include: three time state placer, national champion, and the second season record holder for most pins.
Halveson is most proud of being named a national champion, but also of his ability to be a team player.
After high school, Halverson will continue wrestling at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He hopes the Bismarck High School wrestling program will remember him as a winner.
