In order to join the National Honor Society there are multiple requirements including a GPA of a 3.65 or higher, leadership skills, service hours and possessing a distinctive character. It is one of the many variables that colleges look at on an application when deciding if a student will be accepted into a school or not.
The effort to be considered for the National Honor Society is worth it. The
National Honor Society is an organization that is widely known in America for recognizing intelligent and well-rounded students. Its benefits are for life, and a membership can allow access to social events and leadership opportunities. It is a way to find a community of like-minded peers and individuals, who might share similar goals. Furthermore, National Honor Society is an opportunity for students to participate in an international study program as well. Participating in an international study program has its own advantages.
Participating in National Honor Society can elevate a student’s community engagement through the service hours participated in. It highlights the academic achievements of a student in regards to their GPA. Finally, the leadership position a student must put themselves in gains experience and responsibility. This is beneficial for students when applying to different colleges, adding credibility to their application.
All in all, the National Honor Society is a well-respected institution which acknowledges students that have shown dedication to service, leadership skills, and intelligence. This selective process is a great way for students to have credibility on their college and job applications, as a committee or employers are attracted to individuals within an honor roll.
