Movie theaters are a fun place to go with friends to get out of the house and have a good time. Although it’s a good time, it can be a super expensive thing to do. With tickets being $12 and popcorn and soda being another $10 to $15, it can become quite spendy for just a movie night.
The movie theater is a place to watch newly released movies, but after a couple of months, many of the movies are streamed on Netflix, Hulu, and a bunch of other streaming platforms for either free, or for a very small price. Although this is the case, many people tend to go and watch the movie in the theater for the experience- the big screen, comfy seats, and all of the snacks to go along with it.
Recently, movie theaters have had throwback nights where they show classic movies such as Elf, Back to the Future, and Titanic. This may seem like a cool idea, but most people have seen these movies, so charging $10 to just watch it on the big screen in the movie theater does not seem like a good deal.
Lately, it feels like it has been the same movies every single day, and it does not feel like there are any new good movies that have come out in a while. With new movies coming out that have been highly anticipated, it can make it super easy for people to want to go see the new movie in theaters. This is what leads to a person spending all of that money to see the new movie.
Although movie theaters are a fun and easy thing to do for a couple of hours, it also hurts to see $30 go away that quickly just for the satisfaction of watching the movie on a big screen with all the fun and tasty snacks.
