On April Fools Day, people make jokes and the whole point of the tradition is to fool whoever is the victim of these jokes. If you fall for a joke you are considered a victim of an April Fools joke.
Believe it or not, there is an official rule book for this day, here are just a few of these odd rules.
No pranks after noon. In English speaking countries and cultures, it is said to not prank after 12 o’clock noon. Whoever performs a prank after this time, shall consider himself or herself a fool. More people are likely to fall for a prank or a joke when they get out of bed, but when the time goes on throughout the day, they pick up that it is April Fools Day. There are not as many pranks that can be pulled off after 12 o’clock noon.
No harm and nothing illegal. April Fools Day is a day to have fun and be humorous while making practical, friendly jokes. Nobody should be psychologically or physically hurt. Damaging property is also prohibited. So April Fools Day is no excuse to perform illegal activities and harm others.
April Fools Day spread throughout Britain in the 18th century, it was a two day event, people were sent to do phony errands, some that they would do is pin a “kick me” sign on people’s backs, and pin fake tails on people. April Fools Day has been a tradition held world-wide since 1582. This day has a lot of history behind it. It is up to one to decide if they will fall victim to this day, or if this day will be used to their advantage.
