Starbucks is a corporation that branches out. With its long history of different styled drinks like the unicorn Frappuccino, the oleato, the iced lavender and now the spicy refreshers, one can say that Starbucks doesn’t fear drinks being liked or disliked.
Here, trying all of the new drinks currently out so people do not have to, with numerous options such as the risque spicy refreshers, the iced lavender and the oleato.
Oleato : one out of five stars. Definitely eccentric in an unusual way; Starbucks promotes the drink as something smooth and light to the palette and smooth it was, but it sat weirdly on the tongue and felt unhealthy. This is not something that’d be ordered unless one has specific preferences to something without lactose that still provides that smoothness.
Iced lavender matcha: five out of five stars. It was like heaven in a cup. Since originally ordering it to try when it first came out, it is something to keep coming back to. Easy to order and easy to change with all of the options of syrup pairings, Starbucks is known for. The subtleties of matcha and a delicate, light lavender cold foam paired well for a perfect spring beverage.
Spicy refreshers: two out of five stars. The drink was not horrible to drink but it is not one to order again after the initial tasting. It tasted like a mangonada that melted due to negligence and someone put ice back into it for a second shot at revival. Personally, the drink is not as good as a mangonada and comparing it is a disservice to the delicacy the mangonada is.
Trials and tribulations in the tastings of Starbucks current advertised media have been tasteful and adventurous, whether you like the drinks or not, your order is true and personal to you.
