Being a teenager while having a license with an extended curfew only lasts a few years so it is vital to use those years up to the fullest. Summer only lasts a short amount of time, therefore it is important to fill summer with the best experiences while it lasts.
Although summer is short and everyone should have fun with a busy summer, it is also important to stay safe and remember what is coming ahead. There are so many opportunities to come and it is truly just one slip up that is needed to take away so many of them.
Going camping is a great example when it comes to safely having a good summer. It offers opportunities for swimming, fishing as well as having a bonfire. Another great thing about camping is that it can be done with two people or ten. It can also be shaped to the needs or demands of whoever is going. Glamping in a camper or sleeping in a tent without an air mattress, it’s up to the camper.
Simply going on a drive can be a fun thing to do that also wastes time. Once one is 18, they qualify for Doordashing and UberEATS, offering the opportunity to fill the car with friends and make a little bit of cash while driving around blaring music.
The lake or river also have a lot to offer. Tubing or boating with friends or family is always fun but not always available. Simply sitting on the beach and sun tanning or riding a tube down the river requires minimal effort but still offers a tan while having fun with friends.
Going on a walk or bike ride with friends can offer the physical exercise a lot of people lack once school and sports are out. A simple 20 minutes to an hour can make all the difference. Not to mention, it can get one around town. Biking to go get breakfast or going on a walk to the park and back can truly offer a fun time with friends.
For those who are artsy, finding a fun art project can also be a good way to make up the time. This can include painting bikini boxes while watching a fun summer movie, painting glass while having a picnic or taking a pottery class in town through the college.
Simple things like creating a summer bucket list can make sure the fun lasts all summer while creating a feeling of accomplishment once it is fulfilled. Summer bucket lists can contain activities such as water balloon fights, the fair, pickleball or golfing, but those are just a few ideas.

With summer fast approaching, it is important to acknowledge some safe and fun things to do as well as encourage everyone to choose these safe options when having fun versus causing harm to themselves or those around them.
