The over expenditure of trends was once something that had built up, something that was shown for a whole season before changing, trends were truly trends that were followed because of their display in the media.
With access to all sorts of social media and livelihoods of all types, trends come and go at the drop of a hat. With trends follows fast fashion, something quick and easy to mass produce for the short lived gratification of those consuming what is popular that week.
Alongside trends, aspects stick to people in what they like and don’t like, creating a greater sense of self and easier finding for their sub cultures of clothing or what they would like to experiment in.
With the pros and cons of trends ever so fast pace, is it a bad thing? Body image alongside the clothes we wear is something that takes a toll on many, one week your body is in style and the next week it’s out because what is a trend is so short-lived.
