What got you into hockey?
“My older brother Nico was the real reason I got into hockey. Hockey has been part of my family’s life ever since I was born. When my brother and I were in elementary school, we would play floor hockey every day after school and record ourselves like YouTubers.”

What is your favorite memory of playing hockey?
“Some of my favorite memories come from the girls on the team. Every player has a special place in my heart. I love the culture around the team. I can always count on my teammates to cheer me up if I am having a bad day.”

How many years have you been playing hockey?
“I have been playing hockey for 13 years.”

Who is your favorite player? Favorite team?
“My favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche. 2 of my favorite players are Cale Makar and Nathan Mackinnon.”

Future plans?
“I am going to attend the University of Minnesota. I am going to major in biology to become a chiropractor.”

Who is your role model?
“My role model is my mother Cherie Mortenson. She is a very hardworking person and is the kindest person I know. She puts others before herself. My mom always wants what’s best for me and is always the one cheering the loudest in the stands!”

What position do you play?
“I play center.”

Advice to incoming high-school players?
“Always try your best and enjoy every day because it goes by fast!”
