Before:
I was really excited because I liked the first Moana a lot. However, hearing clips of music and knowing that Lin-Manuel Miranda (a songwriter and music composer) is not included in the making of this movie is upsetting and has me nervous about what the songs will be like in this sequel. I still hope it’ll be a great movie.
After:
I liked the movie. In the beginning, it was trying too hard to be like the first one but then it got better. I loved how they included more people and there were many plot twists and turns. I would recommend this movie to almost anyone, especially those who liked the first one. The music was a bit off in the rhythm and lyrics but, not everyone is going to write and compose music like Lin-Manuel does. The movie was funny and lighthearted. I connected with this movie more as it has Moana’s little sister Simea in it. This is because I strive to be a role model to my younger sister and I’d love for her to look at me like Simea looks at Moana. There were sad emotional parts and others where I just couldn’t stop laughing. Some parts had me wondering what would happen next and some had me upset wondering how they thought of putting that in the movie. I do think that this movie is better than the previous one. Disney also set it up perfectly for a third Moana with the mid-credits scene. And even if there isn’t a third movie, the way the second ended is perfect too. Overall I’d give Moana 2 a 9/10 and I strongly recommend it.
