Staying physically fit during quarantine
As everyone around the country remains inside their homes during quarantine, physical activity is more important now than ever.
COVID-19 has changed the lives of everyone in the United States. Even as winter comes to an end and spring brings better weather, people are still stuck inside their own homes during quarantine. While it is important people remain safe and follow healthy practices, it should not prevent anyone from staying physically fit.
Someone does not have to go to their local gym if they want to exercise. In an age that revolves heavily around the internet, it is easier than ever to pull up workout guides and schedules to follow that help promote a healthy lifestyle. There are many videos and blogs that demonstrate and explain how to work out from the comfort of a person’s home.
Online gym courses have been on the rise in user activity these past months. Online fitness programs like Nike+ Training Club, PiYO and LiveFit are popular for users for following online workouts. These courses utilize the space inside a person’s home and use an application on one’s phone. By doing that, these programs are getting the most out of everyday common resources and giving the user the best experience.
Even though everyone is under quarantine, a person can still go outside if it is permitted by city officials. As long as someone follows basic procedures, like social distancing, not gathering in groups and washing one’s hands, it is okay to take a walk outside. Even walking or jogging around a neighborhood or a house goes a long way in remaining fit.
While it is very important to stay strong and healthy physically, it is equally as important to remain mentally healthy too, especially with all the stress that is going on with how impactful COVID-19 has been. It is good to take walks, have healthy sleep schedules and do whatever a person can to help relax. Taking part in physical activity can be a great way to keep the mind off of all the unfortunate news that has been happening around the world.
Playing sports is a great way to remain fit as well. Whether it is shooting a basketball around or practicing soccer, it is a good exercise to get into one’s daily routine. Playing sports does not only improve a person physically, but also mentally. People should try and reach the standard of 60 minutes of physical activity every day to get the most benefit out of their workouts.
Picking up a habit of working out or just taking walks at a local park or anywhere that is safe is a great way to keep busy as well. When someone is done with their work or school for the day, it is good to go outside and breathe some fresh air rather than stay at home all day. It keeps a person busy and helps develop a person’s overall well-being.
The world is in the midst of a historical event. It is easy for someone’s mind to be preoccupied with the thoughts of current events, where that person might push the thoughts of remaining physically and mentally well away. But following a schedule that promotes mental and physical well-being will give a person a lot of avail over the long run for whatever is about to come these next few months.
