- Keep it simple
- Shorter videos are known to perform very well, so stick to videos under 30 seconds unless it is necessary.
- The caption should be simple and straight to the point but still fun. Making jokes even in the captions is known to go over well among social media users.
- Nicely designed infographics perform a lot better than lengthy paragraphs. Posting a few more slides in a post, but making them easier to read can encourage more people to actually read it.
- Stay active
- Making sure to post regularly is what can make or break a social media account.
- Interacting with followers and making it an open discussion can really promote the account to others. If someone feels an actual connection among followers and the account owner, they are more willing to continually show support and tell their friends about it.
- Avoid seeming corporate, make sure you seem like a real person and not some robot hiding behind the screen.
- Know the brand
- When creating a new social media account, make sure to know what the brand of the account is going to be, whether that be vlogs and talking to the camera, or constant photo dumps.
- Try to keep a color scheme throughout the account. Having a profile picture within the same tones as the posts and story icons (on instagram) can really make the account look better overall.
- No one wants their account to come off as “boring,” so make sure that the posts being uploaded look nice and give off a fun or relaxing vibe.
- Represent the brand
- Making sure to represent the account and brand in all aspects of life is very important. Not only should accounts across several platforms portray the same vibe, but in-person it should be given off as well.
- People like people. Make sure pictures or videos of people (you) are actually present on the account. It really tends to help nurture that creator to consumer relationship.
