Many students at BHS enjoy drinks and food from places such as Starbucks and Fizzly. Opening a shop that sells similar beverages at school would be a great way to build a sense of community at the school through interactions with other students that they would not normally talk to.
Gaining valuable work experience is so important for students and one of the first reasons that BHS should have a drink shop. Students could either volunteer to work in the shop, be interviewed and then accepted for a position in the shop, have students taking business classes work in the shop, or have an elective class in which students work in the shop, similar to how students run the Demon Den
Students could fundraise so that the shop could open, and the money leftover that is not used on supplies for the shop could be put towards other things at BHS, such as sports, clubs, and the music department.
If there was a class that worked in the shop, it could be open during the school day so that students could go to the shop over off periods or during lunch. The shop could be in the concessions stand, with popcorn being added to the menu on Fridays so that students can still purchase popcorn on those days.
Being on time to class is definitely encouraged at BHS and having a drink shop on campus would decrease the amount of students who are late to class because they are waiting in line at a place such as Starbucks.
Having a coffee shop at BHS would help students be on time for school, give them work experience, and build a sense of community, making it a great way to improve the school.
