The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is not a typical monument. Located in Medora, the library will be an immersive museum that highlights Roosevelt’s impact and history in the North Dakota Badlands.
Massing 100,000 square feet, the building’s design reflects Theodore’s values of environmental preservation. Construction had begun in 2023, creating a large suspense for its opening.
On July 3rd, the museum will be open to the public, and President Donald Trump will be there for the event. The Library’s grand opening is projected to be a sold-out event that will include a drone show called ‘Eyes on the Stars: Theodore Roosevelt and the American West.’

The show will be 25 minutes at 10:30 on July 3rd. The location has yet to be announced. There is no cost to attend, as it’s completely funded by sponsors, maximizing its chances for a large audience. At the MDU Resources Community Bowl, Bismarck will celebrate the 4th with a drone show, fireworks overlooking the Missouri River, food vendors, the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra and other family activities.
The event will be from 6:00 to 11:00 P.M. and will be open and free to the public. The grand finishing firework show will begin at 10:00 P.M.
